Player safety is paramount to the MTFC Board of Directors. In the event of extreme hot or cold weather or other inclement weather, the MTFC Board will utilize the following criteria when making decisions on practice or game cancellations:
Hot Weather PolicyPractices and / or games will be cancelled if the heat index in Goodlettsville, TN reaches 104 degrees. We follow the guidelines put forth by TN State Soccer.

Frequent breaks are already taken during practices, but will be increased when the heat index is above 90 degrees.
The concession stand will have ice available if needed to facility cooling down if overheated.
The referees and coaches will remove a player during practice or game play if they appear to be over heated or dehydrated.
Cold Weather PolicyPractices and / or games will be cancelled if the ambient or "feels like" temperature in Goodlettsville, TN reaches 35 degrees.
Lightning PolicyIf lightning has been detected within 10 miles or any thunder has been heard, all game(s) and practice(s) will be suspended and all participants will need to seek shelter immediately. Game(s) or practice(s) will not restart for at least 30 minutes after the last lightning strike has been detected or thunder has been heard. If lightning & thunder continue for longer periods of time, all game(s) and practice(s) will be canceled. The league will notify the coaches when it is safe to return to the fields, or activity has been canceled.
***The above are guidelines and it is the responsibility of parents to make the ultimate decision as to the participation of their child. When hot or cold weather may be a factor, please take into consideration the age and physical condition of your child. Parents also have the ultimate responsibility to inform their child about the dangers of hot or cold weather and the need for proper hydration during hot weather and protection (layered clothing, moisture wicking clothing, etc) during cold weather. Clothing needs to be underneath the uniform.
